A Decade of Excellence, A Future Beyond Boundaries

Universal College Lanka (UCL) proudly celebrated the graduation of 211 students from the Monash College programmes at a prestigious ceremony held on 9 July 2026 at Waters Edge, Colombo, marking a significant milestone, 10 years of partnership with Monash College, Australia.
Since 2016, this partnership has enabled more than 1,500 graduates to progress to Monash University campuses in Australia and Malaysia, providing Sri Lankan students with pathway to to a Global top 50 University.
The Class of 2026 continued UCL’s tradition of academic excellence, achieving an overall pass rate of over 95% while contributing to a cumulative total of more than 520 Global Awards of Excellence across Business, Engineering, IT, Science and Commerce.
The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest His Excellency Matthew Duckworth, Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, together with Guests of Honour Ms. Tanya Perera, Executive Director – Pathways Partnerships, and Mr. Mark Scherian, Associate Director, International Markets, Monash University, Australia.
Top honours were awarded to Valedictorian Sasha Ahelie Figurado, Salutatorian Adeepa Adithya Gamage, and Third Award recipient Thewuni Udara Muthuhetti Gamage. High Achiever Awards were also presented to outstanding students across the Monash University Foundation Year and Monash College Diploma programmes. As UCL celebrates a decade of its partnership with Monash College, the institution remains committed to developing globally ready graduates and creating pathways that enable Sri Lankan students to succeed on the world stage.
