Admissions FAQs

Short answers to the questions students and parents ask most.

Applying

Applying to UCL

How do I apply to UCL?

Choose your programme, talk to an admissions counsellor, then send your application and documents. Your counsellor guides you through each step. See how to apply.

Which programme should I choose?

It depends on your results and what you want to study. After O/Levels you start with a foundation year. After A/Levels you can join a bachelor’s degree or a Monash College diploma. Graduates can take a master’s degree.

When should I apply?

Every programme has at least three intakes a year. Apply as early as you can, so there is time to confirm your documents and scholarship before the intake you want.

Can I apply before my results are out?

Talk to a counsellor. They will tell you what you can do now and what has to wait for your results.

Can my parents be part of the process?

Yes. Parents are welcome to meet the counsellor, visit the campus and ask questions on a student’s behalf.

Who awards my qualification?

Your qualification is awarded by the partner university or awarding body for your programme: the University of Lancashire in the UK, Monash College, Torrens University or Australian Catholic University in Australia, or NCC Education.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

How do I know which programmes I qualify for?

Check the entry requirements, or send your results to a counsellor on WhatsApp and they will tell you which programmes you can join.

What if I do not meet the entry requirements?

You may be able to start with a foundation year and progress to a degree. A counsellor will tell you which route fits your results.

Do I need IELTS?

Not always. Most programmes accept your school English result. The Monash University Foundation Year accepts O/Level English B, and the Monash College diplomas accept A/Level English B. If you use IELTS, you need 5.5 for the Foundation Year and 6.0 for the diplomas. The University of Lancashire bachelor’s degrees accept a C in O/Level English or a B in A/Level General English. The master’s degrees ask for IELTS 6.5 or equivalent if English is not your first language or your degree was not taught in English.

Does my A/Level stream matter?

For the University of Lancashire bachelor’s degrees, passes in any stream are accepted.

I studied Edexcel or Cambridge. Can I apply?

Yes. The University of Lancashire bachelor’s degrees ask for 2 D passes at Edexcel or Cambridge A/Level. Monash College counts your best subjects as a score: 16 at O Level for the Foundation Year, and 5 or 6 at A Level for the diplomas. A counsellor can check your results with you.
