Isuru Dhananjaya is Programme Leader for the NCC International Foundation Year at UCL and Chemistry Unit Leader for the Monash University Foundation Year. He has taught chemistry to a wide range of student groups for more than ten years, and works to make science engaging, rigorous and relevant to students' lives.
Alongside teaching chemistry and biology, he leads work on practical learning, academic integrity and student achievement: developing laboratory experiences, supporting assessment quality and helping students prepare for university study. He holds SEDA accreditation in Learning, Teaching and Assessing.
I believe students learn best when they feel challenged, supported and seen. My teaching connects scientific concepts to practical experiences, encourages questions and gives students room to learn from mistakes.
