Data Concepts, Ethics and Governance

This module focuses on the essential concepts needed to work with data in intelligent systems. On this module you will:

  • Explore the theory behind data and its preparation
  • Develop your investigative and analytical skills for effective data management
  • Learn about ethical and governance responsibilities regarding AI
  • Enhance your critical evaluation and communication skills.

Computational Maths and Statistics

This module teaches key math and statistics for modern computer systems. It gives practice applying statistics to real-world problems. It will also improve your communication skills using complex data and will build the skills needed to analyze and evaluate statistical methods.

Machine Learning and Data Mining

This module covers data mining and predictive modeling in machine learning. It will build your problem-solving skills, teach you how to handle handling incomplete data, develop evaluation skills, and improve presenting data insights.

Programming For the Data Scientist

This module covers programming fundamentals for Data Science. The module aims to:

Master's Project

The aim of this project is to conduct an extensive piece of work focused on a challenging topic relating to User Experience. It intends to provide you with the autonomy to advance skills and demonstrate a deeper understanding of the subject area you are interested in.

The British MSc Data Science programme is designed for individuals passionate about elevating their expertise in data science and caters to a diverse audience. It welcomes UCL Alumni, bachelor’s degree holders with a minimum second-class lower division and professionals holding
qualifications* equivalent to a UK Degree, such as CIM, SLIM, CIMA, ACCA*. Moreover, candidates with relevant work experience*, demonstrating their aptitude for mastering master’s-level studies, are also strongly encouraged to apply. (*Conditions Apply)
