You will also begin the development of problem-solving skills relevant to computing professionals. The module aims to develop skills in usability and interface design and evaluation.

Ethics, Data And Professionalism (CO1191)
Explore fundamental concepts of working with data in intelligent systems. You'll learn how to prepare data for use. This includes ethics and governance issues around data. You'll also develop analytical skills to effectively manage data

Machine Learning Foundations (CO1192)
Learn how data can be used for predictive modelling, with a focus on machine learning. You'll learn how to make decisions when given incomplete or missing data. You'll also evaluate basic machine learning models

Maths And Statistics For AI And Data Science (CO1193)
You'll learn about the mathematical and statistical topics that underpin computer systems. This includes representing data in a mathematical way that's suitable for computer systems. You will apply these statistical techniques to real-world problems. You'll also learn how to work with different types of data.

Programming (CO1409)
This module will develop your ability to analyse a simple problem with a view to implementing a software solution. You will be provided with core skills in computer programming and debugging necessary to implement a readable and maintainable solution to a given problem. You will develop your software design skills and you'll be introduced to advanced programming techniques in preparation for study of an advanced programming module.

Systems Analysis And Database Design (CO1605)
Within an interactive and stimulating learning environment, you will work in teams to discuss and explore a variety of systems. This will develop an in-depth understanding and the practicalities of database design and implementation which you can add to your programming skillset.

The Agile Professional (CO2007)
This module develops project leadership skills required by computer practitioners. The module explores working in an Agile way on a course-speci c group project. You will reinforce your understanding of social, professional, ethical and legal aspects of Computing. The module will prepare you for your nal year project by introducing teamwork, project planning and investigation skills.

Programming For Data (CO2190)
You'll develop your programming skills, with a focus on data manipulation and analysis. This includes different programming paradigms and when to use them. You'll also learn to work with external libraries and integrate them into their programs for data analysis.

Artificial Intelligence (CO2192)
You'll gain an overview of artificial intelligence and its applications. This includes how to make decisions when using artificial intelligence. This will pave the way for further study in deep learning and language processing.

Data Science (CO2193)
You'll explore some of the principles that underpin 'big data' structure and management. This includes effective data collection and cleansing. You'll also learn how to extract meaningful insights from data, using modern tools and techniques.

Computational Maths And Simulation (CO2194)
You'll learn about a range of computational simulation techniques. This includes the simulation of physical systems. You'll develop practical skills and learn how to optimise computational simulation.

Computational Thinking (CO2412)
On this module you'll develop an understanding in using algorithms and data structures using various techniques and discrete mathematics. You'll then be able to apply this knowledge to illustrate design, analysis and optimisation and solve a wide range of problems.

Honours Degree Project (CO3008)
On this module you will research, study and produce a report based on the investigation of a problem and the development of a solution. This project will be the culmination of the your study and will draw on the material and skills developed during the course.

Applications Of AI And Data Science (CO3190)
You'll consider the potential wider use of arti cial intelligence and data science. This will help with your career planning. You'll draw on your skills to come up with solutions to complex problems. This includes examining case studies with complicated legal and ethical scenarios.
