Local Students (Sri Lankan Nationals) seeking admission to our porgrammes are advised to visit UCL located at #503, Sri Jayawardenapura Mawatha, Rajagiriya to process your application.
During intakes you are advised to visit by making an appointment by contacting our Student Counselors via the Hot Line number 0774 777 000 to avoid unnecessary delays.
However, in the event you are unable to visit UCL, you can email your Student Application along with scanned copies of all required documents outlined below.



International Students (Including resident foreign nationals) are advised to contact our admissions office via admissions@ucl.lk who will assist you during the registration process. Upon successful receipt of your application with the necessary document (as listed below), if required you will be interviewed via Skype. Once your application is accepted you will be issued a “Conditional Offer Letter” to process your VISA Application.


Required Documents for Student Registration

  • o Two (2) Passport size photographs
  • o Scanned Copy of NIC/ Passport (For International Students the passport must be valid for the duration of the programme you are registering)
  • o Completed Application Form (relevant to the Course Applied)
  • o Relevant Educational Certificates (Originals/ Certified Copies)
  • o Evidence of English Language Proficiency
  • o Evidence of Extra Curricular Activities (Students applying for Scholarships only)
  • o Reference Letter (relevant to the Course Applied)

VISA Application for International Students

Once you accept the Offer to study at UCL, you are required to pay,

  • 1. Registration Fee
  • 2. International Student Handling Fee
  • 3. Tuition Fee (50%)

1. Visit VISA Application


a. Professional Diploma in Psychology and Business

You will be required to travel to the nearest Sri Lankan High Commission or Embassy to get the VISA stamped on your passport before arrival. Please note for application of student visa, you will not be permitted to apply for visit visa online.

2. Applying for Resident VISA


Upon arrival to Sri Lanka, you can submit visa application to the Department of Immigration & Emigration, Colombo. You are required to apply for the VISA before the expiration of your Visit VISA. You will be required to submit the following documents along with your application,

  • a. A request letter from the Academic institution
  • b. Recommendation from the relevant Embassy / High Commission
  • c. Encashment receipts to the value of US$ 1500/- for a year per person

Currently applicable fees for Residence VISA is at LKR 20, 000.00 per year


3. Validity period of the Residence VISA


Residence VISA is valid for one year or for a period recommended by the Institution/ High commission or Embassy. It can be renewed annually


4. Renewal of Residence visa


You will need to support your application with the following documents,

  • a. A request letter from the Academic institution
  • b. Recommendation from the relevant Embassy / High Commission
  • c. Encashment receipts to the value of US$ 1500/- for a year per person
  • d. Current year performance report of the student.
